Local Colleges and Universities

The Rochester Section of the OSA is proud to support the programs of our local colleges and universitites. It is through their programs that we achieve our goals of lifelong learning and continuous education. Please consider one of the below colleges to meet your career, training and educational goals.


The Institute of Optics was founded in 1929 with the purpose to educate the next generation of leaders in the field of optics. Their mission is to provide the finest education and research experience in Optical Physics, Applied Optics and Optical Engineering.


Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is the home of eight colleges and offers more than 90 bachelor's degree programs, including the fields of engineering, science and mathematics. They are a nationally respected leader in professional and career-oriented education.



MCC logo Monroe Community College (MCC) is nationally ranked and recognized as one of the most innovative community colelges in North America. It offers workforce development and training programs as well as two-year programs that act as a foundation for a four-year degree.


FLCC logo Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) has programs of study with transfer options, for undecided students and for professional development and continuing education. With campuses in Geneva, Victor and Wayne County, as well as online learning, they offer great flexibility in achieving educational goals.
